IADR Satellite Symposium - ‘Guidelines for Fluoride Intake - Are They Appropriate?’ 21st March 2017, San Francisco, California, USA.

This event will be held prior to the IADR General Session at 0900, Tuesday 21st March 2017, Room 2020, 2nd floor, Moscone West Convention Center, San Francisco, California, USA.

Guidance on fluoride intake provided by various agencies / authorities around the world is a key consideration. However this guidance was first proposed several decades ago. In light of current evidence the Borrow Foundation is supporting a three-hour IADR satellite symposium to consider whether, the guidance remains valid and whether or not there are uncertainties around such guidance.

Professor Andrew Rugg-Gunn will chair the session. Three experts, Professors John Spencer,  Adelaide, Marilia Buzalaf, São Paulo and Ingegerd Mejàre, Stockholm have undertaken independent reviews of the current guidance on fluoride intake (please click on the links above to view the three individual reviews). Each reviewer will present a 20 minute summary of their findings followed by two 30 minute presentations from appointed discussants; Professor Angus Walls, UK and Dr Angeles Martinez Mier, USA. A 40 minute general discussion period will follow.
