The Borrow Foundation is delighted to announce that Professor Francisco Ramos-Gomez, University of California, Los Angeles, USA, is the recipient of the 2025 E.W. Borrow Memorial Award. The presentation took place during the Opening Ceremony of the 103rd General Session of the International Association for Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research (IADR), held with the IADR/Pan European Regional Congress in Barcelona, 25–28 June 2025.

Professor Ramos-Gomez has dedicated his career to improving children’s oral health, with a strong emphasis on caries prevention and the use of fluoride in its different forms. Over more than two decades, he has led NIH/NIDCR-funded clinical trials, advanced community-based interventions, and trained future generations of oral health professionals.
Now in its 33rd year, the E.W. Borrow Memorial Award recognises excellence in research on oral health prevention for children, with a priority on fluoride-based approaches. The award includes a plaque and an honorarium.
